How good was/were the.......
Car Parking: Tarmac and grass, although late comers to the car park clogged the main entrances/exits therefore leaving the race was delayed.
Finishing Prize: T-Shirt.
Organisation: Knowledgeable announcer giving clear instructions. Entry to the Fun Run and Main Race on the day through a single door was a little clogged up. (Time clock at finish)
Refreshments: Basic burgers - quite expensive.
Chance of running a PB (Personal Best Out of 10, 10 being highest): 4/10
Atmosphere: Good atmosphere freindly marshalls offering encouragement around the course.
Race Website: A very good website with a lot of information the race, with online entry.
Directions and instructions sent: Good website, online entry avaliable, google map of the route plus venue information.
Marshalls: Well marshalled, friendly - radio contact with start/finish - announcer relaying leaders. (assisted by police over road crossing)
What was the course like? Tarmac 800 Metres - then 200 Metres undulating twisty through woods, 1.5 Miles - 2 Miles steady climb into Belstead village 3 - 4 Miles farm track - downhill. Last mile very tough back through woods from the 1st Mile last 800 Metres road - last 100 Metres grass to finish.
How Many:
Were in the race: 349 finished. (Last finisher 1:02:12)
Conclusion: A very well organised from website to finish. A few minor tweaks needed to get full marks. A very reasonable entry fee considering T-Shirt to finishers. An intresting fairly scenic course with a couple of challenging hills. Not really a course for smashing that P.B, but a friendly atmosphere guaranteed at this race.
