Race: Alton Water 10K, Holbrook, 5 Miles south of Ipswich
Date of Race: 27th April 2008
Distance: 10K (Although measured on Map My Run as 6.75 Miles)
Entry Fee: £10.00 (Affiliated) £12 (Unaffiliated)
How good was/were the.......
Car Parking: Good- close to start/finish, £3.00 was too much.
Finishing Prize: T-Shirt and Goody Bag.
Organisation: P.A Announcer- marshals.
Refreshments: General refreshments at finish.
Chance of running a PB (Personal Best Out of 10, 10 being highest) 1/10 (over distance)
Atmosphere: Little atmosphere on course- ok at start/ Finish

Directions and instructions sent: Good/ Race number and race details- had to email to clarify which race number.
Marshalls: Yes
What was the course like? Concrete/Track/Twisting/Road/Grass Very scenic reasonably flat.
How Many
Were in the Race: Unknown.
Conclusion: A decent race, but the over distance on 10KM will put many off. Ok as a training run with great scenery. Mile markers become pointless if at least 1/2 mile over distance at finish.

Entry Fee: £4 Over 12s, £2 Under 12,s
How good was/were the.......
Car Parking: Very Good, however there was a charge of £3
Finishing Prize: Very Poor, a small plastic medal saying Winner. It did not state what race it had been.
Organisation: Very good, no problems.
Refreshments: Good. A large barbeque stand with food and drinks
Chance of running a PB (Personal Best): 7/10, very flat, however the course is mostly over grass.
Atmosphere: Very good.
Race Website: Good, had plenty of information about the race the course map and directions.
Directions and instructions sent: Good.
Marshalls: Only had one marshal and they did their job. Good marshalling.
What was the course like?
Very flat on mostly grass apart from when crossing the bridge. This was on concrete with pot holes of grass.
How Many
Were in the Race: Unknown
Conclusion: This was a very good race and only a few things need to be changed to make this into a great a race. The main thing that needs to be sorted is the finishing memento
